MULTIECHELON INVENTORY STORAGE & DISTRIBUTION

Taking the “guessing game” out of your food distribution. Deliver on your freshness promise.

Designing a multi-objective supply chain distribution requires advanced mathematical constraints-based optimization, not a rule-based system.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Agri-food supply chains are inherently complex to manage than other supply chains mainly because of their multi-echelon structure, deteriorating product quality with time and changes in storage conditions which leads to significant amount of food loss and wastage.

CBC SOLUTION

CBC undertook a new solution approach that is based on tunedparameter simulated annealing algorithm to solve a large multiobjective multi-product supply chain inventory management problem. The selected objective functions maximized profit, minimized supply chain risk and emissions (transportation miles by increasing capacity of hauls).

BENEFITS REALIZED BY CUSTOMER

The solution delivered results to critical KPIs for Suppliers, Direct to Consumer Suppliers, a Central Warehouse and Stores catering to consumers who were promised “garden fresh” produce. An efficient agri-food supply chain for optimal multi-echelon storage and distribution is now a reality.
